What Will You Regret Not Doing By The End of This Year? — #CBP003

Imagine this:

You're sitting on your bed on December 31st 2023, staring at the clock as it ticks closer to midnight.

You can't help but feel a sense of emptiness as you reflect on the year that's passed.

You think about all the ideas you had, all the plans you made, and all the goals you set for yourself.

You remember the excitement you felt as you envisioned all of the things you would accomplish.

But as you look back and reflect on the past 12 months, you realize that none of them came to fruition.

You realize that there's a nagging feeling of disappointment.

You didn’t do things differently, and you didn't take the risks you wanted to.

You didn’t take advantage of opportunities, and you didn't push yourself out of your comfort zone.

In fact, you didn't chase your dreams.

And now, as the year comes to a close, you can't help but say to yourself: I have just wasted another year.

But what if it didn't have to be this way?

Just imagine how different things would be if you had made the most of every opportunity that came your way!

In this issue of Creative Biz Pulse, we're going to talk about the power of setting clear goals and how to avoid regrets by taking action.

As a creative entrepreneur, I know all too well the feeling of regret. I've been there before, staring at the clock on December 31st and feeling like I didn't accomplish everything I set out to do.

However, over the years, I've learned that the key to avoiding regret is setting clear, achievable goals and consistently working towards them.

How do I do this? Here is how:

Stay ahead of the creative business game with my highly curated emails. Don't miss out on any issues. Join here:

  1. Create Specific Goals: The first step to setting clear and achievable goals is to be specific. Research shows that setting specific goals increases your chances of achieving them by threefold, and it's even more effective than just relying on your internal drive.

For instance, instead of saying, "I want to make more money this year," set a specific financial goal such as, "I want to increase my revenue by 30%."

Specific goals help you focus on doing something that will help you increase your revenue 30% instead of vague things that will just make you more money. This way, you’ll be able to achieve your goals faster.

  2. Create Measurable Goals: The next step is to ensure your goals are measurable.

By measurable, it means you should use figures and numbers to track your progress and hold yourself accountable.

For instance, instead of saying "I want to increase my client base," set a measurable goal like, "I want to acquire 20 new clients this year."

Measurable goals will help you focus on your figures so you can meet up with then.

  3. Create Realistic Goals: The last step, which is the most important step, is to make goals that are achievable and realistic.

While it's essential to think big and aim high, setting unrealistic goals can lead to disappointment and demotivation.

For instance, instead of creating an unrealistic goal like “I want to have 1,000,000 daily visitors on my new blog in a month,” set a realistic goal like, “I want to have 5,000 monthly visitors on my new blog in 6 months.”

Realistic goals help you take off unnecessary pressure and overthinking. So, be honest with yourself and set goals that are challenging but achievable.

The bottom line is this: life is short, and time is precious. And as creative entrepreneurs, we can't afford to waste a single day.

That's why I am urging you to set big, audacious goals for the year and then break them down into smaller, manageable and achievable steps.

Create a plan of action and hold yourself accountable to following through with it. Make sure to surround yourself with people who will hold you accountable and support you on your journey.

But most importantly, remind yourself that it's never too late to start chasing your dreams and goals for this year.

Every day is an opportunity to take a step forward, and even if you don't reach your goals by the end of the year, you can always try again next year.

The key is to keep moving forward and not to let fear or self-doubt hold you back.

So I ask again, What Will You Regret Not Doing By The End of This Year?
